My neurologist just prescribed Sinemet or generic equivalent to see if it helped my symptoms. He's not convinced it's PD so I think this is a trial to see if things improve.
My question is the side effects. I had stomach surgery for reflux which prevents me from vomiting so things get really uncomfortable/painful when the body tries. I brought this up to the doctor but he didn't seemed to concerned. What has been the experience with this med? I see it also can affect urination so does it affect the prostate? Another one of nature's benefit of getting older (60) so I have to be careful there as well.
Any insight would be appreciated....thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I use to suffer from reflux then had the Nissen Fundoplication which has stopped any backflow of acid. It also prevents me from vomiting so it is really uncomfortable if things progress to that stage, that's why I was interested in the side effects of the med. Thanks for the encouraging comment.
