Hi,my name is Sarah and I'm 49 yrs old.
I'll go a couple of days without a BM.Then when I eat ANYTHING on day three,I'll have really bad cramps. At first the stool is nickel size, hard ,dark brown with tar black in or on the out side of the stool. Durning the same BM after passing maybe 4-6 ins of above ,stool will pour out. It has the colar of dark coffee with a lot of "foam" mixed in. All this is with heavy cramping.Once it starts,I'll make return trips to the bathroom 8 to 10 times that day.
I'll keep the trips to the bathroom anywhere from just one day,to a week at a time. Then it's back to no BM for a couple of days. The smell left is so bad that I not only run the fan while doing the job,I have to spray neutra air in the bathroom and then in the whole house.
I should let you know that I had RNY surgery nine years ago. At which, the doctor deemed that my stomach should be removed ,,,completly. What I eat goes right into the small ints. I had the same problem as above BEFORE the RNY.It went away for about 4 years after , then came back even worse.
Now that I've shaired with you guys things I hadn't told my husband,I hope someone out there has thoughts on all the why's and what could it be. Thanks and God bless.

Hi Sarah,
I really feel for you and I don't know if I can help much. But I think I would get to a Dr. right away--maybe a different one. I have bad colon problems. One thing I know is that I'm lactose intolerant and I will go 4 to 6 days without going--then have severe cramping (if I hadn't had children I wouldn't know how to describe it). Mine starts out like yours (but it doesn't have black in it) then it gets real loose with lots of oily looking stuff. You might try not eating anything with milk products in it--it isn't easy--I have a hard time eating out. But if I stay away from milk products--I do better. Remember to drink lots of water, especially after you have an attack because you can become dehydrated. I pray that this helps a little. God Bless You and Yours Today and EveryDay precious49

Thanks for the help. I can't do any milk, cheese, ect. You're right about missing them too! Sometimes I think I'd give my right arm for a peanut butter sam. and a tall glass of milk. After surgery,I tried all the "other" milks, still no luck.I forgot to post before that on the days when the bathroom feels like the most used room in the house,I also look like I ready to have a baby! I use doctors at a v.a. hospital. Two years ago they ran every test.I even did the little camera in a pill. In the upper and lower GI,they removed some polups. They said I had a partly blocked spot where the colon is to curved and that may account for the days I don't go to the bathroom. they put me on sucralfate. When I see what I think is to much dark stool,I'll take it 4 of them a day. They seem to help the cramps.I can't take them all the time because it coats the ints., when coated by day four,I feel like i'm weak from the nutrition not being able to absorb. Thanks again fro the help, and I love the name.In case you wondered about mine,I chose it because Christ bonds in love.God bless and thanks a bunch. please excuse any bad spelling,I'm rotten at it!

bondsnlove--AWESOME--Good Early Morning Sarah,
It's so wonderful to meet you, Sister in Christ, and I love the name. I would not be here if it weren't for Him. Somedays, all I can say to Him is "I'm a Child of the King". I'm going to put you on my prayer list because I know that when Drs. can't help--God can!!! I have alot of health problems and have a Dr. that is a Christian and she really cares and is going to figure this out with Gods help. I know just what you mean about milk. My favorite is a Sam's Cola Float with Braums Frozen Yogurt. But I have found that I can drink Silk Milk and I use a very expensive soybean butter that is so good. I haven't found a cheese out of soy that I like ,yet, but I'm still looking. I know what you mean about looking like you're about to have a baby. My stomach pumps up so bad. And I know what you mean about the bathroom and the smell you talked about before. Like something died in you and is finally coming out. Drugs are so helpful but also so bad--I really have a hard time with them. I seem to be allergic to everything. I just pray that God will do the healing for you that the Drs. can't take care of. I'm going to have a colonoscopy in Jan. I had a hysterectomy when I was 28 and the scar tissue from that has blocked my colon before so I think I'll have to have that taken care of if the colonoscopy turns out OK. Is there anything that can be done for the blocked part of your colon? I have found that Unprocessed Bran--I get it at the health food store--really helps, I put it on everything that has some liquid to it--like soups (homemade of course) mashed potatoes, etc. I have also found some prunes that are orange flavored that really help. It's just really hard trying to resist the foods I shouldn't eat but I do so much better that it's really stupid of me to "fall off the wagon" and eat what I know that I shouldn't. Please take care of yourself and I pray that you have a good Lords Day. God Bless You and Yours Today and EveryDay. precious49 ps don't worry about the spelling -- I keep a dictionary right next to me :>) --my name is because God allowed me to have 4 precious little Yorkies and I named my 1st one Precious and we are PRECIOUS in God's sight.
