Please can someone help me, i have had this problem now for around 3 weeks.
I have terrible difficulty in breathing, constant cough trying to clear my throat, a tightness around the base of my throat, bloated so much it is uncomfortable, my voice is now constantly croaky, i can not lie down as i wake up choking and breathless, i have a horrible acidy taste in mouth today which i didnt have before. I now sleep sitting up in bed as it seems the only way to get some sleep.
I saw my GP last week who really scared me and said it could be heart disease or cancer, i was sent for chest xrays and blood tests which im waitinw for results.
I saw another gp on thursday as the previous night the symptons seem to get worst and i was awake all night scared to sleep incase i stopped breathing, i think because of what the first doctor had said it had scared the life out of me.
Please any advise on what it could be, i have to go back to the doctors monday for an ecg.

You have several symptoms that are common with acid reflux, especially the difficulty breathing (acid reflux can mimic or trigger asthma symptoms), the constant cough/throat clearing (due to excess mucus caused by reflux), the sore throat (due to irritation of the esophagus caused by stomach acid), and the acidic taste in your mouth.

It could definitely be acid reflux.
