View Full Version : cyst in ovary and rubella vaccination???

Hi everyone!

I have PCOS and just finished my 5th month on clomid. I wasn't able to ovulate during any of the 5 months. My obgyn referred me to an RE, but on my last visit (3 days ago), she said that I developed a cyst in my left ovary. She didn't say how big the cyst was, but she thinks that the RE will not move forward until the cyst is gone. And she thinks it will take 2 months for the cyst to be gone. I've never had a big enough cyst in my ovary before where I couldn't try conceiving. Has anyone been through this? Is 2 months the typical time for a cyst to disappear?

Also, my obgyn suggests that I get the rubella vaccination. My blood test didn't show if I am immune to rubella or not. She suggests getting the shot and waiting 3 months before trying to conceive. Has anyone experienced this situation? I've read online that you only have to wait 1 month.

I am getting frustrated because I've been trying for 11 months and I don't want anymore delays.

Hi, DJ. I too have PCOS and developed a cyst probably from clomid. My RE did say it is common and they can go away on their own usually within a month or two. Also - some people take bcp to help the cyst resolve faster. Unfortunatley my cyst did not resolve and has to be removed - but many really do go away on their own. I know how frustrating delays are -hopefully by the time you see the RE it will be gone!! At the very least - I know that I felt more optomistic that we would be able to conceive once we started seeing the RE - Good luck!!

Hi Dj Well believe it or not I just got the Rubella shot 1 month ago and I am here in Europe. In my blood there was nooo antibodies either so I just got the shot and my doc said we can not try for 3 months cause this can cause some risks to the baby.. I have low progestrone and my doctor gave me Monks pepper they call it chastberry tree also. This is supposed to regulate my cycles.. So in Dec I have a appointment to see how my levels are.. Good luck to you and to all the ladies dealing with TTC.. I know how yall feel..
