iv had this happen so many times. here is a little info, and whats going on

i eat very little, more like snacking, crackers, chips, sometimes "supper/meal" foods, little debbies snacks, chex mix, dinner rolls, stouffers paninis, pizza, bread stix, quick easy things. also arbys curly fries.

sometimes i go 2-6 days without eating.

but once and a while, when i do this and i eat (sometimes even when i eat on a daily basis) ill have 10-15 bowel movements in about a 4-5 hour period. it starts out bad bad gas pains go bathroom almost constipated, as soon as i walk out the bathroom no more then 1-2 min later i need to go back that will happen 3-4 times, each time stool gets softer and softer, it will get to a 6 on the bristo scale (fluffy/mushy) not the runs, then it will become a butterscotch color stool (small small pieces) that actually almost look like mucouse clumps 2-3 pieces at a time. then it will go to a 5 on the bristo scale (formed fluffy pieces) and it will stay that way, and sometimes after doing that a couple times im done, but with the first 3-4 bms i have the worst gas pains in the world, then after that i have pains that are gasy but telling me go bathroom.
when i go, and done i notice like a clearish yellowish orangish swirl ontop of the water that has bubbles.

this happend alot more during the summer but starting to come back again. i dont know if its ibs, or dairy, foods i eat or what, im getting more then annoyed with it, and the docs have not really helped a whole lot with the matter.

any ideas what the problem might be

Hi driftinggoddess,
You sound exactly like me and I'm Lactose Intolerant (have been most of my life). I learned a long time ago to read labels because milk products are in almost all processed foods. From what you said you are eating, you are getting alot of milk products in your system. It's hard to eat out when you're Lactose intolerant but there are enzyme tablets--such as dairy relief tablets--that help. Mine is so bad that those don't help anymore but I used them for years and I for the most part didn't have as much of a problem. Alot of Drs. don't believe that Lactose Intolerance is real--But it is. The best way to test it is to not have anything with milk products in it and that takes away those foods you mentioned. Eating fresh foods, soy milk and soy butter--there are some really good ones--basically, you have to prepare what you eat. But I know what you mean when you describe your bathroom experience. It's like birthing a baby that doesn't want to come out--my pain would make me cry and I would get real weak. Be sure to drink lots of water after you have those because you can become dehydrated. It takes changing your eating habits--but it is so worth it to me because it doesn't happen as often. I hope this helps and I pray that you're not Lactose Intolerant because its no fun. I miss eating cheese and frozen yogurt and chocolate. But I've adjusted recipes by using silk milk and willow run soybean butter and no one can tell the difference. God Bless You and Yours Today and EveryDay precious49
