Hi, I am in new orleans and go to FINO. I have never seen Dr. Dickey. Have you ever been to Dr. Rye there? If so, do you have a preference between the two?

Hi -- Yes I've seen Dr. Rye -- He did 3 or 4 IUI's a few years ago -- he was pretty good but he talked more about the zone diet and stuff like that. I really like Dr. Dickey -- He really is a great doctor -- he doesn't rush you when your there., he explains everything to you.., I have done 3 IUI's with him -- Now I am doing my first and only IVF next month.
What are you doing ?? I have to go back nov. 10th.

So what do you think of there staff ??? I really like the ultrasound tech's and the blood work people are alright But some of the nurses are really rude if you ask me. On the other side where the nurses are and stuff I only like maybe 5 or so.., it's like they don't really realize what we are going through...., with the medicate and stuff we are mentally and physically stressed out ..., I can knock some of out when I am there. ha !!!! Theirs's one lady -- she collects money -- I just want to strangle her when I get her -- she never wants to send my claim in to my insurance ... She says my insurance doesn't cover fertility ...., Well I tell her it covers paps smears and routine blood test ..., She put up a big fight with me..., I finally got someone to send it in and I got back 165.00 from my insurance.., the Bi***!! ha.

But other than --- overall ---- I really feeling good about going there and feel positive the IVF will work for me..

baby dust to you !!!

I just went through a cycle with relations and injections. I was kind of upset b/c no one had told me that I was out of my diagnostic phase and that I was going to have to pay the cycle fee last cycle. When I was checking out the lady tells me I owe $875! I had no idea that I was at that point, then she says rudely "What IS your definition of treatment b/c you obviously don't understand the true meaning". My husband was really mad, b/c I really hadn't spoken with him about costs. I used to work for an insurance company, and I think that if you have a physical problem, such as endometriosis, they should still bill your blood work and ultrasounds under that diagnosis, then they would be covered. Dr. Rye's nurse called me yesterday and when I explained to her that I could pay for the medications and just the iui, but not for all of the other things they say my insurance doesn't cover, she told me I can wait a few cycles and save up money, and she also told me that the fertility meds work the second cycle also???? Never heard of that. The next thing that makes me a bit mad about them is that I have had a conization, and I know that I do not make any cm. I have told them this for 3-4 cycles, and now that af came, I feel like they should have let me do the iui last cycle and not waste my money. I am really stuck right now with what to do. I have so many other female problems, I have been put through menopause twice, and I really don't know how much longer it is going to be before my obgyn tells me I have to have a hystorectomy (sp?). Sorry for rambling, I guess that I am just still really disapointed about af this cycle. I really wish you good luck and baby dust on this cycle. Let me know how your ivf comes along.

Deb..,

I see you have the same problems that I have with some of the people at FINO --- and yes they should send everything in to your insurance just to see if they will cover it or not -- that is what I told them --- Just to let ME worry about my insurance BUT then again ---- they do have flat rates for everyone who does not have insurance -- Didn't they tell you that ?? You can have as much altrasounds and bloodwork that is needed in that cycle. Like just a cycle with clomid and altrasounds its like 550.00 and a cycle with injections is alittle more. As for as the med's working for two cycles --------- I DON'T THINKS SO !! I wonder why she told you that !?? I never heard of that -- What injections are you taking ?? I seen online that you can buy follistom and reprenex pretty cheap from other people -- I think you look under [<>].com or just type in fertility medications and see what happens. but I would definetly ask them about the flat rate fees. I don't know Dr. Rye's nurses ---- Dr. Dickey's are pretty good -- I just don't like how insensitive some of them could be when you check out !!! well good luck - don't give up !! Baby dust to you !!
