Hi everyone. I have been having dry scalp and flakes since the cold weather started.
This may sound like a stupid question, but I love my shampoo and conditioner called Brilliant Brunnette. I like the way it makes my hair shine and brings out the highlights.
Only problem is it does nothing to help with the flakiness.
Do you think using Head n Shoulders first, then using my favorites would help control the flaking? Or would I just be wasting my time because the Brilliants would then strip my hair back down causing the dryness?
Just wondering if anyone else has the same problem.
Thank you.

I don't think you should wash your hair twice, especially when your scalp is already very dry.
Head 'n Shoulder only. And maybe your favorit shampoo for special ocassion...

I had the same flakeness and dryness problem. I used Nizoral (sp?) instead of Head and Shoulders because I found it worked better. I didn't use it every day just a few times a week. The other times I used other shampoos.

KDD, is that the one that has kind of a weird smell? I have been using the Head&Shoulders w/extra volume and it makes my hair soft and it smells fine, but I still see some flakes.
I think I tried Nizoral a LONG time ago...it may smell better now.
I'm thinking about using it because what's the point of the H&S if I still have flakes?
The Nizoral is keeping the dandruff under control just using it a few times per week?
Thanks,
Salty

I haven't even noticed a smell with that stuff.
On the box it says to use is 3 to 4 times a week for about 8 weeks and then use it as needed. I did it the 3 to 4 times for 8 weeks and now only need to use it once a week.
I had the same problem with the Head and Shoulders not working and this is what helped me.

Thanks KDD. Doing what you did is probably exactly what I need.
I appreciate the advice and am going to get some today.

KDD, it worked well.
Now my problem is my hair is thinning. I have to post about it.
It had nothing to do with the Nizoral. I have no idea what to do.
Thank you for your help.
