I was wondering if anyone can help me with a possible answer to my question. My dad was diagnosed with an inner ear infection three years ago and now it seems that ever since then whenever he has two beers he seems to be extremly drunk and he was always able to handle his alcohol before this time. He is a big guy that weights somewhere around 300 pounds so two beers should be like nothing to him. He only drinks once a week but it seems like the problem is worsening. Does anyone have any possible answers?

Your father is probably drinking hard liquor on the side. There is no way that two beers can cause a 300 lb man to get drunk. I know from my own experience. I am an alcoholic who has often sneaked hard liquor on the side when no one was looking. If on the other hand, your father only feels dizzy but not drunk the problem could be the inner ear. I can't see how alcohol would effect the inner ear. I have problems with my left hand ear. My eustachian tube was damaged from a middle ear infection. When I drink, my left hand ear feels better not worse. Alcohol usually covers up discomfort.

I dont believe it. It sounds like he may have an inner ear disease such as Meniere's, labrynthitis, etc. Has he seen a Neurologist to r/o brain disorders? How long has he been drinking, and does he have a long history of heavy drinking? There are conditions that are caused by damage to the cerebellum from alcohol abuse. Let us know what's happening. Good luck, and God bless.

Praising Him,
