Can someone explain this too me.... does the labrythitis cause the benign postitional vertigo..... as i said before..ive had three bouts of what they call labrythitis the past fifteen years.....but i seem to always be left with the problem of not bieng able to put my head in certain postions without getting dizzy.gets better over time..well sorta ...i havent been to a doctor recently since this last episode in sept besides my gp and im considering going to a specialist ...im in the south jersey area for phila being the closest place i suppose i should seek help.... does anyone have any recommendations ? by the way ..thanks for your support...reading this site had helped me enourmously.....just hearing about others being in the same boat..,,, (just dont rock it lol )

That is what happened in my case. In researching it--it appears that there is a body of medical research that thinks that in some cases of BPPV--that is how the BPPV happens---then there are some Doctors that disagree with that---nothing new about disagreements with this condition. Also--most of the research shows that the BPPV--comes back every so often--not always--but for some people--it happens.

I'm in the area also--PA side. From what I can determine--the Univ. of Penn---has a Balance Lab--dealing with this stuff. Have not used it(yet)--and the VA Medical "Center of Excellance" for this condition out in the Northwest(WA/OR) area--seems to think they are good---but have not talked to them.
