I have never put the use of Accutane & inner ear disorder together before reading your post. But I realized I did use Accutane about the same time my inner ear problem (endolymphatic hydrops) began.

I don't recall seeing any published studies in the medical literature connecting these 2 but if enough people had an association between Acutane & inner ear dysfunction it would warrant further looking into.

It is listed. Also a MedGuide has now been required by the FDA(Jan.2001) to be handed out with accutane precriptions. There are medical abstracts about hearing problems listed in medical sites on the internet.

You and thousands of others who took accutane earlier may have hearing problems associated with the use of Accutane.
Others may not have a clue that the two could be related.

Further investigations are underway about Accutane. How this drug stays on the market is a mystery to me after all the recorded adverse effects in Medwatch along with medical abstracts/letters. Other drugs that have been pulled off the market in the last two years due to death,liver damage and other adverse health conditions pale in comparisome to what Accutane has caused.
Maybe those who took Accutane will start putting two and two together with their present health problems and the taking of Accutane in the past. There are other health problems that have been linked to past Accutane use. There are numerous sites on the internet now that discuss this issue.

Depends. I don't think I would not be around today if it hadn't have been for Accutane. It hurt so much physically and emotionally just to get out of bed every morning.

I have been on accutane at a low dose for almost 2 months, and I have developed tinnitus, and I dont believe it's a coincidence http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif I will stop taking the drug now and pray my ears stop ringing, or at the very least does not get any worse to the point I can hear it no matter what. I am so desperate to clear my skin, and the stuff was working great too. NO oil at all. I haven't seen skin like this in 15 years. I am wondering if there is anyone who had tinnitus to begin with and then took accutane, does it mean it would get worse?
