:)I have been diagnosed with Burning Mouth Syndrome by my dentist. My GP referred me to the hospital for tests. The hospital confirmed the diagnosis today following blood tests and talking through symptoms. Ultimately there is no cure and it is usually triggered by something major stressing you out. It is very common apparently for stress to cause dental discomfort. This condition has caused me to have a tooth removed that may not have been necessary. The doctor I saw today stressed that I should not have any more removed as this does not solve the problem! He recommended a councillor who can help with stress relief. If you are in any doubt please seek help because It has certainly been worth it for me - just to know it was not anything major. I now feel I can help myself to manage the pain. I hope this information helps anyone who is in the same boat. If I can give you any further info or help please contact me.
