I have several:

Hyland's honey cough syrup. It's amazing for stopping coughs

Thorne IM Encaps - it strengthens your immune system and helped me fight off strep throat without antibiotics.

Traditional Medicinals Sore Throat Tea - works well and tastes good - I even give it to my kids.

I actually have a whole arsenal of Hyland's homeopathic remedies in my medicine cabinet....they work and my naturopath said that Hyland's has been around forever and is perfectly safe and is a reputable company.

I have had many experiences. I have a 2.5 year old daughter who has yet to be sick. I give her echinacea/astragalus liquid form in addition to liquid vitamin C and her vitamins. She got a cough for a few hours one morning and I bought this echinacea and she stopped coughing immediately. Last week, she developed a dry cough during the morning for a couple of hours, so I went out and bought Herbs for Kids wild cherry bark cough liquid and she stopped coughing the second I gave it to her and never coughed since.
Personally, I take in organic apple cider vinegar and my cravings for more food diminish. Also, when taking the candida cleanse, which I will complete in January immediately stopped all craving for food and sweets which I eat a lot of. I also cut up garlic cloves into pill sized pieces when I feel something coming on in addition with taking more vitamin C and D. I rarely ever get sick. There is a lot more that I will do, I will add later!

What kind of Apple cider vinegar do you take? I tried some, but it was too strong to handle. Any other ideas?

Braggs Mother kind of apple cider vinegar. If you notice, you have to go to a natural or health style grocery store for this. I live in a large city and none of the regular grocery stores carry any type of organic apple cider vinegar. Same with stevia and a lot of other things.

A castor oil pack on the abdomin to help digestive problems or stomache aches. You heat a cotton or wool cloth on top of heating pad, and put the castor oil on top of the cloth and put the cloth on the stomache, a piece of plastic over the cloth and the heating pad over the plastic (so the oil doesn't leak). It is amazing, you can search castor oil packs online and get a ton of info.

Manuka honey for a wound infected with MRSA and VRE. Took about three months to heal, after no results from five months of debridement ointments and several antibiotics. The honey was also cheaper, per ounce, than the co-pay of the prescription ointments.

I have had a stomach ache in the same spot under my rib cage for a few days. It gets worse when I eat.

I am going to try this and also try to eat raw fruits and veggies for a few days with more fiber.

Thanks for the tip!

Yes, I've bought Braggs, but couldn't get it down. It was too potent. How in the heck can you drink it.

What exactly has it helped you with...I may give it another try.

I have been posting on this board for 9 years and it is loaded with alternative treatments.

I started posting about using homeopathic remedies that I have been practicing for 35 years --- they really do work! Just search this board and become educated about the various alternatives.

Do you have any particular ailment that you are having problems with?

Harry,

I have been having bloating and digesting problems. I have tightened up my diet, even more, and looking for digestion and liver helpers that really work.

Harry

Skylist,
Sorry for the delay.

Bloating is usually caused by poor digestion of the food you intake. Either your friendly bacteria is out of balance and need to be rebalanced or the digestive enzymes that your system puts out is not adequate and needs help!!

Both bloating and digestion could be helped by taking probiotic supplements and digestive enzymes.

The best digestive enzymes I have used are Omega Zyme by Garden of Life and Essential Enzymes by Source Naturals.

The probiotics that I like and use are PB-8, Culturelle, Pearls by Enzymatic Therapy, Primal Defense, Bifidus and DuraFlora by Source Naturals.

Also, eating a good brand of yogurt like Stonyfield Farm and Kefir will help rebalance friendly bacteria in your gastro system.

How was it determined that you need help with your liver function?

Harry,
I am going to begin some enzymes and something that helps to fight bacteria and breaksdown gallstones.

Liver enzymes were related to celiac sprue we think, and perhaps I was exposed to it, caused the liver to not function as well, and things are getting screwed up.

Everytime I tighten up my diet, it has resolved, but I am going to add these supplements too.

Do you have to have enzymes and a probiotics?

skylist,

Celiac disease (and also called celiac sprue) is a chronic disorder that is caused by an intolerance to gluten and is inhereditary. Gluten is a compound contained in wheat, barley, rye and oats and some related hybdrid grains. The cause of Celiac is unknown--- but affects mostly caucasians from Europe.
Gluten causes a person with celiac to get damaged intestines (the villi) resulting in poor absorption of nutrients. Usually the first sign is diarrhea. It is difficult to diagnose because it acts like many other ailments. It is best diagnosed by a byopsy of the intestines during an endoscopic exam.

Celiac is treated by eliminating foods and processed food products(and there are many on the market) that contain gluten from your diet so that your intestines can heal but not cured from the intolerance to gluten.

A good book on "Enzyme Nutrition" is by Dr Edward Howell.
He relates how and why we need enzymes to digest various foods-- It is the Spark of Life. You have a limited supply of enzyme energy at birth and it is suppose to last a life time.
Much of our enzyme energy is wasted throughout life. Eating too much cooked and processed foods that contain preservatives as well as chemicals, drugs, junk food, alcohol all reduce our large amount of enzymes from our limited supply. All ailments & sickness even simple things like colds & fevers, temperature changes also deplete your supply. Dr Howell's book will help explain the importance of eating more raw food in your life. natrual enzymes contained in raw food is destroyed at 118 degrees F. A pretty low temp!!

When you are young, your body supples enough enzymes but as you age your enzymes are depleted. I take a digestive enzyme with every meal to help my digestion.

Your Intestine contains over 400 different strains of bacteria that are in constant warfear. Some are resident and stick to the walls of your intestines others help digestion and pass through and others killoff bad bacteria to keep your intestines friendly & healthy.

Your intestinal health is extemely important since it affects 80% of your immune system. And many people treat it like a garbage dump by consuming too much sugary, salty and not wholesome foods.

I am a big believer in using both natrual enzymes in raw foods and taking digestive enzymes and eating yogurt, kefir, as well as taking probiotic supplements daily.

Also, I only drink steam distilled water. Your body is 70% water. Drinking anything else has to be processed by your Liver.

What you have to determine is the Quality of life you want to live along with it's Longevity?

Harry

I have taken 6 grams of chlorella daily for 6 yrs. No colds, no sickness, nothing. The first thing I noticed was , even on an old, beat up mattress, I was sleeping like a rock. It also seems to help my mental focus and clarity, and I seem to learn new things rather quickly, and without much effort. I know it sounds crazy, but I swear it's true. It also cleans your bowels, blood, and acts as an alkiline, to balance pH. I also take celery seed extract(has lowered my blood pressure). You can't beat Mother Nature.. Peace..

wondersabout,

I think you are asking about candida overgrowth -- We all have candida-albicans in our urinary and intestinal tracts --it is a single celled fungus. If it grows out of control it causes an infection called canidiasis. Some of the problems it can cause is most common being in the mouth, nails, nose, ears, gastrointestinal tract and vagina--- that include alot and broad array of symptoms.
Including abdominal pain & bloating, constipation, diarrhea, colitis, rectal itching, prostatitis, headaches, joint and muscle pain, sore & burning mouth and throat, extreme fatigue, vaginitis, urinary tract infections-- and the list goes on and on.

It many and varied symptoms often make candidiasis misdiagnosed because there is no reilable ways of determining if your system is out of balance. Thrush. nails and vaginal candida problems are easy to diagnose but the gastro and urinary tract are very difficult. Stool sample help if the test are conducted by a reliable laboratory.

Food allergies is also connected. And, it is made worse in moldy & damp places or eating sugary foods including simple carbohydrates -- as well as food that contain yeast!! And, taking antibiotics and other medications that kill off friendly as well as bad bacteria.

Yeast including candida thrive big time on sugar.

The obect of a candida cleanse is to get rid of the excess candida/yeast --- making your system balanced-- There are over 400 different bacteria/yeast strains in your Gastro tract that are in constant warfear. Balance is alot easier said than done!!

It may take going on anti-candida diet for months, taking anti-fungal drugs , OTC remedies and taking probiotics to make friendly bacteria/ yeast balanced.

I eat a good brand of yogurt several times daily and drink Kefir several times weekly that helps keep friendly cultures in balance.

Hello, everyone:

I started using L-tryptophan (1,000 mg.) and Progestacare (one application at night) about 3-4 weeks ago, and now I'm sleeping much, much better (I used to wake up about 2-3 times per night and sometimes I could get back to sleep, but MOST times I couldn't). This was driving me crazy because I have to get up at 5:00 a.m. for work and was getting only about 3-5 hours of sleep. Now, I wake up once, but I am able to get back to sleep usually within 30 minutes to an hour. I get around 5-7 hours of sleep now. :)

Aloe vera strait from the plant for minor cuts and scrapes. Makes them heal much faster and with less scarring. I've been using it for years.

Tea tree oil is fantastic also for minor cuts, etc. and is a natural anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. When my husband contracted a serious MRSA I ended up getting a few sores as well. Treated them with high quality tea tree oil and they healed very quickly and did not come back.

My favorite natural product I use is my MultiVitale Blend for sure! It's made with a ton of whole foods, had pre and pro biotics, and is organic. It's kind of like a non-green superfood, which is great for me since I can't stand the taste of those :P
It helps with digestion, your immune system, and also acts as a cleanser for your body.

I didn't know you could remove moles with acv. The reason i use the itworkspaste is because it's a one time 20 minute application and goes to the root of the problem from what I understand.

What's itworkspaste? I'm putting Scarzone on it now (when I remember to) and it's helped a little. The sunless tanner makes it show more, though. Ugh. I should have waited until summer was over with to get it removed. It wasn't cancerous or anything, just crusty and yucky looking.

itworkspaste removes warts, moles, skin tags, cherry anginomas (spelling)? and I think genital herpes. The most uncomfortable part is just after you prep the area and apply the paste, it stings for a few seconds but then it settles down and scabs over. You leave it on 20 minutes and don't have to keep applying a cream every night or anything like that.

There are tons of stuff you can find on that popular auction place... but most have the red bloodroot in them. My friends boyfriend used some on his back with one of those cheap brands and it was a nightmare, so make sure you get the white paste, which the itworkspaste. There are other 20 minute removal pastes but I think they are more expensive and don't have a scar cream as follow up which I recommend to prevent scarring.

This works like magic to stop hot flashes:

HOT FLASH SMOOTHIE

Into a blender put the following and blend well:

1/2 cup tofu, any kind
1 cup juice (I like orange juice)
1 banana

Within 4 days your hot flashes will disappear and will not reappear as long as you have one of these delicious high protein smoothies every morning.

I think it depends on how you define the word "natural". Is anything in pill form natural? Is any man made remedy (like cough syrup) really natural? I think it's amazing how many things we have come to accept as natural that are really not, in my opinion.

Is a remedy considered natural simply because you don't need a prescription? What is or what should be the standard that determines what's natural?

I often have terrible hangover headache. And lemon tea helps me lot to get relief.
Lemon tea is believed to be the best herbal way to get off from the symptoms of hangover. The herbal constituents in lemon tea help to flush out all the toxins from the body and hence achieve good hangover relief.

I used to run a lot - nearly an hour a day. I don't do that anymore. I run a couple or more 5K races a year with my daughter and grandson. I found that wholefruit mangosteen juice prevents 98% or more of any muscle soreness that I used to get when I didn't run often. I can run a 5K race without any preparation - sedantary for months so to speak - and when I did that in the past I would ache and hurt for several days afterwards. I drink a couple of ounces before the race, a couple immediately after the race and a couple before I go to bed. And, no muscle soreness or pain. Additionally, I closed the car door on my knuckles the other day. I caught the middle finger of my left hand - and it hurt. I went back inside my home and drank a couple of ounces of wholefruit mangosteen juice and did the same before going to bed. There was no swelling or redness, no reduction in flexibility or agility with my hand, and no loss in strength. It was like nothing had happened. It did not hurt unless I squeezed my knuckle and then it hurt only while I was squeezing it.

i would dissolve the apple cider vinegar in boiled water, until you can manage a higher strength.

I have recently found coconut to be my number one food. It has helped my skin, my internal candida, and to eliminate unwanted bacteria in the home. I clean with it.

I also find miso to be very good.
