Sometimes my friends if L,itis gets so bad, they have to perform surgery called LABRINTHECTOMY,ive had both ears done now,and sorry to say my dizziness is still there and i just have to get on,and put up with it,im completely deaf in (L)ear and nearly deaf in right ear,my balance is better, but not good,i dont fall over anymore, but have to take things very very slowly indeed. But since ops 1st was about 15 year ago,and 2nd 3year ago,i now have severe tinnitus in both ears.My god if i was to give you full medical history on ears,i would be here for a month.
regards

That doesnt sound like Labrynthitis to me? You dont go deaf with L'itis?

Hi My friend i had labryntitis for many years, then had 1 massive dizzy spell, they took me in and performed a labryintectomy, that left me totaly deaf in left ear,it wasnt the labryinthitis that made me deaf,it was the op that they thought would stop the dizziness, that causewd the deafness, labrythectomy is removal of whole labrynth in ear,and the same with other ear,but luckily i still have some hearing left in right ear.
regards

Do you still have constant dizziness now? What exactly are your symptoms? That is awful about the deafness...

Stuarttttt you seem very courageous! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif My condition is not as bad as yours but after nearly 17 months of feeling constantly dizzy I'm still refusing to accept it. I think this is not good for me because it's keeping me from getting on with my life.
