I know you cannot tell me the brand name, but I would like to know where you purchase Strontium. (is that allowed?) I googled it and saw several places that sell it in different forms.
Also, do you think it is OK to take Strontium if I take Sillica every day?

I googled it also, and buy it for $11.77 for 60 capsules., if that helps. They also have specials, for 3 for 30.00. Maybe this will help you. If you buy the same brand in the health food store, it is 32.00 for a bottle of 60. I am not sure what silica is, but if you take strontium, you need to take at night, a few hours after any calcium supplements. You need to take 650 mg.

Hi texastechex, welcome to the board. We can name brands, just not post the site/link where it can be found. I take NSI strontium (strontium citrate) that i buy online. There are several good brands but this is the one i've been taking for over 2 years. It's reasonably priced and for me has proven to be effective.
I think there are some here who take both strontium and silica, they can give you better advice than i can. take care...phyllis

I purchase mine online also, althought I see now it's carried in my local health food / supplement store. Important thing is not to take at same time as calcium, as the two compete for absorption. The silica I purchase locally, and take that at a different time than the strontium.

I use Dr. Best strontium bonemaker. And it seems to be working extremely well. You can get some good deals online.

Do you find that Stronium has any side effects? Thanks for letting me know not to take it with Calcium. Is Silica a prescription drug or is it a supplement? Thanks.

Silica is a supplement that you should be able to obtain at your local health food store. As far as side effects of strontium, most report the only side effect is improved bone density;)

Silica is a supplement. I actually learned about it here on this board. One of the members takes 2000 mg. a day. I bought mine at the health food store for $13 for 180 tablets. My nails have gotten incredibly healthy and very hard since starting it about 6 weeks ago. Sure hope that is happening to my bones, too. I asked my endocronoligist about both Silica and Strontium and she did not think either one would help. We will see-my next bone scan is in October. Good luck to you!

I would suggest you return with some of the clinical studies done on strontium showing the effectiveness on bone density and relay these to your endocronoligist.
