I'm new here and would like to hear any and all opinions on what I'm in for. I know for sure I've waited too long already. I've had two opinions and they were almost identical.
I had L4/L5-L5/S1 fusion over 10 years ago and it was successful although I still have to take pain meds, but I can walk today.
I decided to go with the same surgeon that did my lumbar. He said generally it's only a one night hospital stay with anywhere from one to several months recovery depending on success of surgery. He will use a bone growth stimulator although he doesn't use a hard brace except in rare cases.
That's about all the info I have right now, but am sure interested in any opinions/suggestions.
Btw, I'm a 53 year old single male with hypertension and COPD although I quit smoking 4 years ago.
TIA
Gary
