I had a bad sinus infection in March, in April I had a CT Scan and MRI done of my sinuses. The sinuses were clear but my Mastoids had small amounts of fluid. Nine weeks later I still have this weird feeling in my head. I had labrynthitis three years ago. It completely cleared up, but these new symptoms are somewhat similar. I have a foggy head and sometimes am very dizzy. The dizziness comes and goes, but the foggy head is almost a constant. It calms down in the evening when I don't do anything physical. I find it very hard to work because it is hard to focus.
Has anyone ever been diagnosed with Mastoiditis? and if so how is it treated? I have tried decongestants but they make the foggy head feeling worse.

Miza, I have been diagnosed with mastoiditis and have posted my story a few posts down. As far as I can tell, if antibiotics have not gotten to the infection in time it will continue to infect the surrounding area. There is a lot of literature about it on the web. Read up and go to your ENT to be sure that is what it is.
Good Luck,

My ENT told me that inflammation was not significant and it had not progressed to destruction of the bone. He told me to wait a month and if I still feel like crap to call my neurotologist. It has been three weeks since I saw the ENT, I still feel like crap. I called the neuro to make an appt and the earliest is 8/21. Not sure if they can help anyway, but sometimes it helps to have a confirmation of the diagnosis.
