i found your board by accident, and am glad i did ishare alot of your same symptoms! 2 years ago i had severe post partum preeclampsia, high bp, retinal detachment, brain swelling,ever since then ive been lightheaded,lack of concentration, brain fog, ear fullness, ive had an eng test they said was fine. mri,ok too. basically docs say i have anxiety. what do i do? help!

Just wondering if you have actually been treated by a psychiatrist for anxiety. I have been treated for ten years for Generalized Anxiety Disorder and am taking Zoloft which helps alot. During my inner ear illness, I have also been taking an occasional Lorazepam. I think I may be increasing my Zoloft dose, since this illness has been extremely stressful for me. I am also asking for a recommendation for a psychologist to talk with about my problems. Anxiety and panic and depression runs in my family unfortunately. I have been very stressed out since the labyrinthitis started.

Sometimes you have to try different medications, before you find the right one for you. You have to find a doctor who is patient and knows a lot about the different drugs available.

My MRI's are always normal.

Make sure you see a good neurologist - which you probably have.

Believe it or not, you will eventually feel better with some kind of anxiety treatment, even if it is only part of the problem.
