been having digestive problems (IBS??) for awhile; minor cramps, severe diahrrea and constipation.
started taking orange-flavored Metamucil like Harry had recommended in other posts.
it was working great at first. all my symptoms had seemingly disappeared.
then i ate some spaghetti last week, started having minor cramps again soon after. Took some fish oil tablets, now all my symptoms are worse then ever before, and the Metamucil doesn't help me much anymore. been dealing with this since New Years Eve now.

i'm not sure if the fish oil has caused some blockage??
my stools now come out thin and kinda slimy. what should i do??

j.m. ,

When your system does not digest fats/oils well, your stool will come out sorta soft and pasty. This does indicate that the enzyme that digests fats -- lipase is not adequate enough and your system needs more help.

You could try taking a digestive enzyme with meals.
I use a digestive enzyme with every meal I eat. The ones I like best is Essential Enzymes by Source Naturals and Omega Zyme by Garden of Life (a little costly but very good)--- Both are broard spectrum digestve aids.
There are many others available -- it seem to be a trial and error method because we all eat so dfferently.

I wish you well---Harry
