Hi All,

I've got to have a cup of coffee! I've been without most of the last year. I've read that depression seriously contributes to bone loss so I may as well have a cup of coffee to have a short vacation from the intense fatigue and depression.

So my question for those in the know......
Before supplements or after? And how much time before or after?

Hi Carol...the only time i have coffee (2 cups) is in the morning with a splash of milk to balance the acidity. I always think, when in doubt wait or you could call your local pharmacy and ask the pharmacist what the best time is to take supplements after coffee. I take supplements late morning , afternoon or whenever i remember to take them. I do take care to separate the calcium from the strontium, but that's about the only one i pay special attention to. I also believe that everything in moderation is the key to staying sane and happy. If you want coffee, have some..but not the whole pot. Coffee is said to have health benefits in moderation...there's that word again. Good news..the English Mastiff at the shelter found a good home. take care..phyllis

THanks Phylwill,

Your reply was really helpful! I have read and have been told to split the dosages up so I can absorb the supplements better - unfortunately then I end up not taking them at all. I like the thought of coffee in the morning a few hours before the supplements with a meal.

I've been so bad - it's just that I never sin!!! LOL So I will have my coffee and thoroughly enjoy it!

That's great about the English Mastiff! I love those dogs!!! I'm not sure If I mentioned that My beloved Hannah who passed away 1 1/2 years ago was a thirteen year old Saint Bernard who I adopted at five months. I'm sorry for repeating myself if I already mentioned it.

I would love to talk more about the dogs - can you contact me off-list?

I'm psyched about the cup of coffee!!!!!! ....carol

Hi Carol, I drink coffee in the morning cause if i drink caffeine too late in the day i have trouble getting to sleep. I've also found a once a day 1000 mg. calcium with D that makes it easier. I too have read and heard about splitting doses of vitamins and such thru the day, but if i don't pop them all at once i forget.

In additon to liquid calcium caps there are also chewable ones...they may be another option for better absorption.

I do remember you telling us about Hannah. Our dogs and cat are part of the family, kids who don't talk bac, altho the cat does get mouthy sometimes. The dogs are part of my exercise routine...they keep me company when i go for walks. take care..phyllis
