Hi everyone,

I had my surgery 1+ years ago. It was really great to feel like I am complete again. Didn't have to ask people to repeat or turn my good ear toward people to hear them.

Unfortunately after a while(~4-5 months) I lost my hearing again. Now I am afraid to go through another surgery and it feels like my hearing is worst than preop. Meetings, social gatherings are very hard for me to attend.Well I do attend but don't enjoy them as much. And I feel like specially in the meetings people get frustrated because they are asked to repeat what they are saying.
I want to be able to hear my son if he needs me in the middle of the night as well. Thanks god I have one ear(with little hearing loss) but if I am sleeping on my good ear, I cannot hear what is going on in the house. I want to be able to attend him when he needs me. I am going to stop my wish list and come to the point:

Anyone experience hearing loss after their first surgery and what options were seeked? Recomendations for Doctors in Maryland area?

Many thanks!!!

I had surgery five months ago and good results, but now hearing isn't so good..I'm sorry I don't have advice but I really sympathize, I don't understand what's going on with my ears either...:( Anyway I hope you find some answers & I wish you very best of luck. I also would like to hear my children at night, sometimes when they come in our room (because of bad dream or whatever) it scares me out of my wits as I don't hear them coming!! and it's a little startling for them too as I jump up suddenly out of a sound sleep!

Anyway all I am doing, is trying to be patient and listen to my ENT who says it can take a while for the hearing to stabilize. I have fingers crossed for that...and for you too. I'm not in your area so can't recommend any doctors though.
