Hi Wowweeee
I have just had a look at the headache board for the first time (weird considering I've suffered from headaches my entire life!!) and I did a search on Amitriptylene. I found a post that you made nearly 2 years ago on Amitriptylene.
The reason I did the search is because my neurotologist gave me a prescription for Ami a few months ago which I took for 3 or 4 weeks, also at a low dose. I experienced my longest phase of being dizzy-free (well almost) that I have felt in a year. In hindsight, I also experienced very few headaches. I never did link the headache-free period with the Ami, but last night I found an article on the internet which was all about tricyclics and how they are used in treating chronic headache sufferers.
You have spoken before about your experience with Amitritylene, but now that I've started investigating it seriously, I'm keen to know more. My neurotologist has diagnosed my dizziness as being a result of my stiff neck and chronic headaches. he said I'd need to take the Ami for a few weeks. I think 3 weeks was too short. I started taking it again 3 nights ago.
I'm really interested to hear what you have to say about Ami. Do you start taking it again? Did you get the same side effects? From what you said on the headache board, it's a long term solution to headaches. I'm hoping it's not something I'll need to take forever to control my dizzies. I've always just dealt with my headaches and have not let them get to me (hence never visiting the headache board) but this dizziness is not bearable in the long term. My heart sinks at the thought that this is all related and my dizziness is here to stay just like my headaches.
