every morning i wake up i get this sudden urge to go to the toilet-the urge is so bad that i HAVE to go RIGHT NOW or i wont control it! when i go its very bad diarreah ( cant spell). throughout the day then i get more urges to go but when i go im constipated and my stools are either like pebbles or else waterey and loose but have to be forced out! this is the most horrible feeling as i get all panicky when i go out in public for fear that i might need to go and there wont be a toilet close to me! its just when i get the urge I HAVE to go!!!
i also get bloated and have gas every now and then. when i get the urge i also get hot flushes and sweaty! i eat very healthy foods but quiet a bit of bread.
i have named out my symptoms as much as possible so could ANYONE please please tell me what kind of bowel disorder i might have as i want my life back-this is going on with over a year! i also went to my doctor about this 6 months ago and my stool sample came back normal he said-could there be anyother checks to see whats wrong with me??

[QUOTE REMOVED]

tina111,

Lactose Intolerance can cause all the symptoms that you described. I know because I've been there and done that. It takes making changes in you're diet. There is actually a test for Lactose Intolerance but some Drs. still don't believe that it is actually real. Milk products are hard to eliminate because there are so many names that don't sound like it is milk related. Reading labels is the key and doing alot of preparing your own food. If you want more info, just let me know.

Your not alone when it comes to this,I suffer with severe stomach issues beyond what you go through.I have IBS with Chronic Idiopathic Constipation,so I need to stay on my exact diet,I'm actrually a vegitarian. In my opinion, you should get a colonoscopy and blood tests too see if you have any blockage or internal dissorders. You could have Lactose Intolerance,Celiac Disease,Chrones,or IBS.IBS can be real complicated,it definately can be a combination of constipation or the complete opposite, depends on your mood too.Serotonin runs in your brain as well as your digestive track,if your stressed out more often so,it can be damaging.Did you try vitamins, for intants,a probiotic?Acidophilous can work in your favor,it typically works after 2-3 weeks, you should give it a try.

Hi, what's the difference between Chron's Disease and IBS?? Does routine bloodwork show something is out of whack with either of these?

Tina it does sound like IBS but you should have everything else ruled out first. IBS is a diagnosis of elimination.
Fromthesouth, Chron's is an inflammatry disease, a blood test for inflammation can indicate if there is any inflammation in the body. IBS is only diagnosed after everything else is ruled out. The best way to do that is by having a colonoscopy which will also diagnose Chron's. The bowel and all the biopsies taken during the procedure will be normal if you have IBS.

hi
I'm new to this kind of thing, for a start I'm not writing about me in this particular thread, I will be

contributing on diverticular disease arthritus and cancer but thats not my major concern. I'm writing for

my daughter who is only 11 and her problem is IBS and colonic inertia and wheat allergy, at least that is

the diagnosis after 5 years of increasing pain and discomfort. There are a lot of issues that I want to

get into but basicly, and I find this reflected in many forums this is a condition that is poorly

understood by those sufferring from it and those trying to treat it. I am in fact looking at legal action

for clinical mismanagement. Anyway for those of you who have this debilitating condition I would like to

offer the following tips. Most doctors are not really good at GI problems a precise guide and definition

can be found under Rome II and III conventions and I would advise searching cks.library.nhs.uk which are

the official nhs clinical guidelines. She has been through most of the normal medications to little effect,

she is now permenently off school. Done a lot of research, tried a lot of things, sometimes things get

better but it is definetly as they say stress related. Where are we now, diet, yoga, phyllum husks,

magnesium, a good probiotic and trying 5-htp. For IBS sufferers in the UK over 18 as a last resort they

prescribe first tricyclics and then prozac, not for depression but because current theory points to the

5HT receptors in the gut, evidently its all to do with serotinin, but this can be a bit dangerous remember

that zelnorm was withdrawn in the US as too much serum 5HT rots your heart valves.Do the research.
But this is not the main reason for this post, I will try a poll later but I am interested in finding out

how widespread is This IBS and when does it start, I gather its primarily a chick thing, does it take off

in puberty in which case my kid is in for an even worse time, Does it get worse with stress at

secondary/high school, same again, and how about pregnancy, hormones again. Really my wife and I are

scared that Alexandra will end up having her colon cut up,IS THERE ANY HOPE?
