So for the past little while, and not everytime either, but after defecating generally an hour or two later I'll feel really gassy. Sometimes I'll try passing the flatus and will get liquid fecal matter that comes out. My sphincter sometimes gets wet even when I do not try passing the flatus. This might last two hours or so. Could this be IBS? Usually I'm at work when this happens so I can't even stop to go the bathroom (work in a restaurant), and it's obviously very uncomfortable and frustrating. Afterwards when going to the bathroom I'll have a mess to cleanup. I eat pretty much the same foods everyday and this includes a lot of fiber. Anyone have any suggestions on how to curb this occurrence?

I had the exact same symptoms and got a sigmoidosopy done (had colonoscopy done last year) anyhow the G.I. doc found that my sigmoid was inflamed and he put me on hydrocortisone suppositories and more fiber.....it has seemed to help although I STILL from time to time have those symtoms. Go see your Doc.
