Hello again, ok I went yeaterday for my kidney ultrasound and yes indeed I have a kidney stone, I went to pick up a copy of the report so I was anxious to see, I have not spoken to the Dr. yet about it. The report says it measures 3 - 4 mm, ok now I have done a little research on this. I have found that the ureter measures about 3mm round, and if this stone measures 3-4mm, then what? Seems like somebody gonna be hurting when it passes (if it dont get stuck). But the stone is in the lower pole which is I think the bottom part of the kidney where it is going to be hard to get this thing to flush out so I can attempt to pass it. But do I want it to? ok someone tell me now if I am right here, and give me some advice. Will this need to be blasted here or what? What could be next if this thing is larger than what it must pass thru. ok thanks so much.

I can't answer to the part about if it can pass or not at that size.

If it can't pass on its own, the DR may do Lithotripsy. Kind of like a laser to break up the stone and have you pass the pieces. My personal experience with this procedure has been fine. It did not hurt and only took about 1 hour.

I was told that a stone smaller than 5 mm can usually be passed. Good luck.
