There is no set age for which the HPV test can be performed. If the child is sexually active (and this does not necessarily mean intercourse) then she should undergo routine PAP tests. In the event the PAP comes back abnormal, or if there are any visible lesions elsewhere, then further diagnostics can be done including an HPV test.
