the most devastating news I could have ever recieved I got yesterday and I have no clue about what this means for the rest of my life. I was hoping I could get some insight about the virus from people who have been infected for a while hopefully?
I'm in the middle of my first break out and I feel terrible. How long is the fever/chills usually last for you guys?
and how many breakouts did you guys have the first year?
is there medication that can prevent breakouts
my boyfriend is being tested today and i haven't gotten word as to whether or not he is positive, but if he isn't hsv2 positive can we make love without him becoming infected?

I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis! Definitely keep in touch with a doctor as there is medication you can take to help during OBs and help lessen the frequency of OBs or shedding.
Personally, I just want to give you advice I wish I could have had when I first found out. No matter how bad it hurts, you will only begin to heal when you begin to forgive yourself. You not only have to fight to heal your body but also your mind/heart.
That being said, in my experience, my OBs lessen in frequency and severity over the years.
The forums are a wonderful resource to find different methods in which others have tried to healed physically or mentally. Ask questions, be open minded, and remember H does not define you. You are the same wonderful person you were before you knew. Remember to stay educated, protected, clean, and open (with others).
