I live in MS. In June I had a horrible car accident (tbi, multiple fractures) and was in the hospital for 3 months. My mother got me temporary disability while I was in the hospital. It was supposed to last 6 mos., but after 3 mos. they it was being reevaluated. Awhile before the wreck, I had applied for mental disability (bi-polar, OCD, ADHD), but never heard anything back. Now that they are reevaluating me, they are going back to when I first applied. They set up several doctors appt.s for me. (I also have hep C.) I have been to them all. About 2 wks. ago my case worker called to say a decision has been made and she sent her report to the SS Administration. They would agree or disagree, then they would send me a letter by mail. I received a letter in Dec. that said that would be my last check until a decision had been reached.
However, my Medicaid (which is part of my SSI) is still active. I would think that if I had been denied, my Medicaid would be inactve, but I still have not receive an official letter of the decision. My case worker couldn't tell me over the phone because of HIPPA. Do you think my chances are good? How long before I find out? Will I receive back pay from the time I first applied? Help, please!
