Hi All
Im a 43 year old female and I went to Dr last Monday and the OBYGN said I had UTI and put me on meds. That thursday pain in side and rating to back was getting worst. So called back OBYGN and was told no UTI, but maybe Kidney Stone because there was blood in urine. Went to Primary Dr and had a CT Scan done Yesterday and last night got called no Kidney Stone. But today still have sharp pain in left side and still rates to back . Could still be stone and it just didnt show up? Or does anyone have anyother Ideas?
Thank you

A kidney stone is EXCRUCIATING. Not just a sharp pain, you feel it on your right or left side, in your back, as well as in the front, its a sort of uncomfortable feeling as well as excruciating, you would be in tears, unable to move or do much of anything, you would most likely be cramped up into a ball moving around trying to find a position thats more comfortable ( thats an actual symptom) if thats what your expieriecing then yes its most likely a kidney stone, If the scan or xray didnt show it, that doesnt necessarily mean its not there, some stones dont show up becuase of what they are made of. It could be an infection.. The pain of kidney stones doesnt usualy "get worse" its one simple and horrible pain. The doctors will tell you its comparable to giving birth. You should get your blood drawn to test for infection

could it be a bladder infection maybe? It could be a stone that just didnt have enough calcium to show up on the ct scan maybe?
I hope u find out what is wrong soon and start to feel better!
