my sore feet

I'm waiting to hear from the doctor as to when i will have my 1st met toe fusion. in the mean time, i've been anxiously anticipating recovery. eight weeks plus is a long time for non weight bearing, how in hell does a person bath? i had a cheilectomy 2 weeks ago on the other foot and have the stitches out tomorrow and will finally be able to get in the shower. if anything, it's only been an inconvenience keeping my foot up while bathing, i'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to do that with only one working leg. all of you pros, what's the advise you'd give?
thanks for your input.

you dont bathe your foot. you need to get a cover for your foot and then you can sit on a stool in the shower. i also was able to get into the bath with my leg hanging out. its kind of like a rubber cover and you can look on line. yes, it gross after all that time.

It's called a cast cover. You can get them at CVS, Rite Aid, etc. My doc gave me one on check out at the surgery center. Have loaned it to friends who've had broken feet/legs. Works great!

I also took baths with one leg hanging over the side, it wasn't that hard, just a bit uncomfortable, but as others have said, they do have covers for this, I got one at rite-aid.
