My husband is having issues with a stiff neck and crunching sounds when he turns his head. I have the crunching, too.
What causes this and what specialist should he see?

Thanks,
Nancy

getting the ball rolling here is actually pretty simple. just have him(and you too maybe?) see his primary doc regarding his symptoms. his doc can do a basic eval then send him for an MRI just to really "see' what may be going on inside the c spine area down to the cord level. an x ray wont get down to the deeper levels that really do just need to be looked at right now. an x ray can show a herniation pretty well since it is a boney structure, but you still need to see what a possible herniation can be really affecting inside that column. once you obtain that MRI,that would kind of dictate what your next steps should be. it could just require PT or a surgical intervention of some kind. but you really wont know anything til you get that MRI and look inside.

just have him make an eval appt with his primary(make sure you get that MRI referral too) and go from there. good luck and please let me know just what you find out. FB
