My Dad who is 63 has just been told he has parkinsons. His brother who is 16 years older than him was diagnosed at the same age and his sister was diagnosed a few years later. The other sister has nothing wrong with her and is now in her 70's. I'm wanting to know will I get this and is there any test I can take to find this out. We know very little about this disease and I can't stop thinking about it.

Hi,
There's no test, sorry. You needn't worry, your risk is about the same as anyone else. Having family members with Parkinson's only slightly increases your risk. Your risk is still less than 1 in 20. Just getting older is the biggest risk factor and that happens to everyone.
