I exercise but I don't diet, I weigh 125 and am 5'2. I eat almost healthy, I crave carbs a lot so I'll eat whole wheat and chips are my down fall. I eat a lot of fish and chicken but always have a carb with my meals. Is this bad? Will I eventually lose weight? I'd like to lose 10-15lbs. I workout everyday for 40-60 minutes. I work full time and go to school full time. So I'm really active. Although my job is a desk job. How will I lose the weight if I hate to diet?

Healthy and toned is more important than a waist size or a number on a scale. Muscle weighs more than fat. Diets never work, transforming your body is a lifestyle - never a diet. Slow changes in your eating lifestyle brings results, in stead of a crash and burn.
I have started having a breakfast smoothie with fruits or vegetables, supplements, oatmeal, berries, spinach and a little Whey Protein with a water base. My body loves it. It sustains me till lunch. This is something I could live with for the rest of my life. and I lost weight because I was taking in less calories and giving what my body craves. My body feels so good with more energy.
Forget diet, think happy and healthy.

You don't have to go low carb to lose weight! Keep up your exercise routine and try to just stick with HEALTHY carbs and foods. I just make sure to eat something with protein at each meal, not JUST carbs (for example, not just a giant bowl of pasta). Just try to balance out your meals and add in plenty of fruits and veggies and of course, keep it lower in fatty foods. Staying active definitely helps! I also have a desk job, but I work downtown so I do a lot of walking around to my car and back and I often go work out at a nearby gym (or go walking if there is less than an hour) during lunch breaks, in addition to my regular workouts.

Nutrition is a major factor in any work out. If your not eating right then you won't get the results you want.
You should be eating a balance of carbs fat and protein.

Of course it isn't bad. 125 for 5'2" and 130 for 5'4" are both healthy weights. You don't want to look like a skinny model. As other posters have said, eating a well balanced diet and getting the nutrition you need are what you need to do. Eat good food and yes, eat carbs! But don't even dream of going on a "diet."

Some other ideas for wt loss:
-Usually a very small change in your diet will result in a gradual wt loss over time. Generally if you just eliminate 100-200calories/day from your usual diet, you will see results. Find some empty calories you take in daily, that you think you could eleiminate. Say you drink a 12oz coke/day (160 calories, I beleive). - Over time, if you make this one change you WILL lose wt.
-Try the 90/10 rule. 90% of the time, watch portions and foods you choose. 10% of time, eat what you want. No one can eat perfect all the time!
-Nothing new, but watch portions of everything you eat. by cutting back a little, you will see BIG changes. - Do you really need 2 cookies, or would 1 be just as good?
Finally congrats on your commitment to exercise! this will help keep muscle on and is so great for your heart and lungs.

Yes! I could never live on a low-carb diet. I've done a few adjustments, like eating salads at lunch instead of sandwiches with bread, and less snacking on crackers at night. But, I have a carb with just about every dinner. I love pasta and rice, but also have a veggie and a lean protein (usually chicken or fish), and try not to go overboard on the carbs. Exercising and watching overall calorie intake is far more important than just cutting out all carbs, in my view.

No. Just make sure you don't eat too much. Eating too much makes me gain weight more than anything. Also, exercise quiet a bit if your not really dieting. I eat horrible and so I exercise pretty much all day now. I hope I'm not discouraging you and I'm sorry if I am.

Diets don't work. But you need a balanced nutrition plan. Too many carbs will keep the fat on. I find it hard to cut the carbs altogether as well. If my wife is eating fry's I will have a couple. It is when I say no to carbs is when I start craving them. I eat one piece of dark chocolate a day 72% or higher.
Working out with out proper nutrition in my opinion is a waste.
