Is it possible at all to be 13 weeks, 2 days pregnant and still be having an ectopic pregnancy and not know it?
Sometimes when I stand up or lay down (Sometimes just move.) I get an ache in my left side. It really started happening yesterday... I pushed myself up off the bed like in a push up and my side started hurting. It's a very mild pain that comes and goes.. I have had surgery on this side, but it was over 2 1/2 years ago. Do you think it's possible I just pulled a muscle?
I haven't been to the dr. yet, because my medical JUST got approved yesterday and I'm waiting for everything in the mail. (I called the place.) It's taken them well over a month to get back to me.
Thanks for your help.

Hi,
I had an ectopic pregnancy that was diagnosed at 5 weeks. I have a high threshold for pain so all of the pangs and aches that I was feeling really didn't rattle me but I was having what I considered very abnormal bleeding. I was very persistent with my husband that things just didn't seem right but since I had never been pregnant before I had no idea what normal was. Well it turned out it was ectopic.
Generally, an ectopic pregnancy presents with severe pain and bleeding. The bleeding stems from blood that is supposed to be going to a placenta in the uterus but if there is nothing in the uterus then the blood gets flushed out of your body...it feels and looks like a very heavy period. I was told that the pain is so severe that "you would know" however I never knew and the pain got really bad at the very end...just before I had emergency surgery.
I would say that if you do not have any bleeding that it's unlikely it's an ectopic. The pain could just be a "swollen" ovary, the uterus expanding, muscles be pulled, etc. If you are still concerned then I would make an appt. with a Dr. now, you can always you get your medical insurance information (like account number, etc.) over the phone and go in with that.

Well Amplifies...
I had mild cramping near my right ovary all the time for first 3 months....I had been told that it is bcoz I was on clomid bfor I got pregnant and clomid sometimes cause overian cysts to develop . That is why we get mild cramping.
My OB said it will not at all interfere with the pregnancy ...So if u were on clomid or letrozole bofr, there are chances of cyst that is causing the pain. I wud not bother untill I start bleeding or severe pain.

This thread has been relocated to the proper board. Discussions of this nature should be discussed on the miscarriage & still birth board or the women's health message board in order to not frighten the other mommies to be.
Thank you,

well if it feels like a cramp one of your eggs could be stuck, that has happened to me and its not fun, it hurts a lot...they just told me to take tylenol and such....you could also have pulled a muscle, i am currently attending a massage therapy school so you might have just slept on it wrong...or it could just be gas

Thanks everyone. :) It hasn't been hurting much today, so I'm thinking it must have just been a pulled muscle or something similar, though your posts did help me clear my mind a bit. Sorry, Mod! I don't visit this forum too often and didn't know where to post.
But I wasn't on any birth control before my pregnancy.
