Hello All,
I am going to the ENT tomorrow because my primacy doctor said that I may have fluid in my ear and around my ear. So he wants an ENT to check it out to make sure and whatever the ENT guy will do. I hope it is something to get rid of the pain. It is horrible and hurting me. I have had this for 3 months now. It is going into my right ear as well but not as bad as the left ear is. Will ENT do surgery? Hospitalize me or what? Please let me know what he will do as I am scared. Please Write Back Soon,
Thanks,
Leah

Ouch 3mo? At 1st. pain your Dr. should've ck'd ear for
bulging, fluid, color, & then your throat. Most say it's ETD & put you antibiotics. Q-tips in bad ear, if
used in other will transfer problem. If no allergies,
it can be something simple. Your doc could've tried Rx
before referral. Lazy or causious! You'll probably get
a hearing test, pills to try or schedule a needle
aspiration of fluid. You're ear is numbed! Seals up almost immediate. You waited long so now you get the
next set of stuff. Let us know what ya' got!

hi Leah

i wouldn't get yourself in a panic. the ENT doesn't actually a heck of alot of anything but they are definalty a good start.

basically he'll ask you a bunch of questions, look in your ears and possibly your nose. he may do a hearing test and more then likely a pressure test. they place a small disk thing slightly in your ear, it sends a vibration and measures the vibration that comes back. it will be able to tell with fair accuracy if some fluid or anything else is behing your ear drum. it can also tell of your ear drum is concave or convex.

good luck and good health

Anastasia
