Ohhhhhhh - I cannot remeber that propelry cause its more like you get spells in the day when you feel better then worse. Gradually you get a run of days when the symptoms lessen and you can cope better and the its just mild. I got real dizzy in Mar 01 and felt ok (ish) by Aug 03. I still have the after effects of Lab's even now but it is nothing like the major symtoms of Lab's - vertigo, nausea and dizzyness 24/7. You will get better - just try to think every day is a day closer to gettin better. :smile:

The beginning of Month 5 is when I started to have brief episodes of feeling like a normal human. Now at the 6 1/2 month mark I have hours of time when I feel completely normal.
Usually when I go from doing one thing to another thing or if I go from indoors to outdoors my brain freaks out and has to readjust. If I go to the supermarket I feel really out of it for the first five minutes, but by the time I am ready to leave I feel normal. Same thing with driving. The first 10 miles or so are bad after that I can handle it.
I am hoping that this is temporary and I will soon feel completely normal.
My biggest complaint is that I still cannot read. I cannot even imagine picking up a book. The only reading I do is work related or on the internet. It bothers me more to look down and read than to read on the computer straight ahead.

Hope you feel better soon
Mia

My first near normal day was at the end of May,03. My symptoms started on 11.02. Then the middle of June I had 8 wonderful days, then In Month 8 was when I started getting a few good days followed by bad days...very erratic. About one week ago, I had 14 extremely wonderful days and now about one week of not so good days. Rain is a big pitful for me and I'm starting to believe I live in the rain forest instead of the Catskills. today I must say I am feeling much better. It's a very slow process, but it will come...

all the best,
Kathy

Kathy....You give me hope that this "thing" will finally pass. One of the frustrating parts of it is the erratic nature....couple of good days...then it's back to square one....then you almost think it's gone for good.....only to be stricken out of the blue. I, unfortunately, compound the problem with anxiety attacks because I get so scared when I experience the weird head and slight nausea. So, I am just plain miserable with it. But, it's so reassuring to read all these posts and see that there are so many people who are going through much the same thing. I live just up the river in the Albany area. Feel free to email me anytime.

Mary-Anne;
You are probably about 1 1/2 hours away from me. where did you go to get your diagnosis. How long have you been dealing with this? For me its been a little over 10 months. Erratic is definitely the course for any balance disorder. I only noticed in the last couple of months that I was getting a few dizzy free days here and there and that was something I never experienced. I totally understand the anxiety, its all par for this. The symptoms are always changing. Sometimes being on the computer doesn't bother me at all and then there are days when it does. I would love to e-mail you but I don't believe the board allows you to do that. But I am always reading the boards so feel free to chat anytime. We're all in this rocky boat together.

Take care,
Kathy

For me month 6 was a bit of a turning point, but like everyone else it's been very backwards and forwards for me since then. I am possibly having a second turning point now (month 12) because my 'good' phases are longer now - up to 3 weeks now. During these good phases I am still not my old self and I still feel grotty if I'm tired and when I first get up in the morning, but generally the symptoms are very bearable.
