Hi all. For over 6 months I have had stabbing pains all over (mainly random fingers, toes, ankle), extreme joint cracking, buzzing feeling on and off on either foot, and nerve pains--this for the most part all onset in June one random week. It has not gone away, I have good days and bad days. I have muscle twitching ALL over my body daily which onset 1 month after my other symptoms. It has gotten a bit better but got to the point that I was twitching thousands of twitches per day for 2 months. I also get deep burning pains that will ride up a random finger or toe, feels like hot acid being poured on my bone. Also random numbness in my right hand.
I had an MRI for brain and spine, it was fine. An EMG, full body bone scan, 40 pages worth of blood tests, all fine minus a few things that the drs say mean nothing.
What could be wrong? It clearly seems nerve related though not sure how the extreme joint crakcing fits in
Oh, also a month after this all started, I developed horizontal ridges on all my nails aka beaus lines......still have them

Hi,
What does your doc think? Your symptoms sound somewhat similar to mine, they were checking for ms, now going in another direction..I have neuropathy in my hands and feet, now doing tests for this, my neuro thinks maybe pre-diabetes? Who knows, I just found out my "normal" mri wasn't as normal as I thought so we may be back to ms again.
Have you been through all these tests to rule everything out? The joint cracking is what has me puzzled. What does your doc say?
Take care,
Robbysmom

Drs are stumped. Why do they think pre diabetes with you, is your glucose in a good range?
That worries me, see I have had gerd for 2 yrs and recently burning in my upper stomach. My dad was dx with pancreatic cancer and passed 2 months later--this summer. I know that this is a symptom of PC so now I am scared. Usually, one with diabetes is a red flag for PC. My glucose was normal but ca 19 (pc test) was somewhat elevated. Drs said not to worry but I am getting another 19 test to see if its increased, if so then that is not good.

Hi, I have SFN in my feet. My blood tests for fasting blood sugar was normal so no one thought any more about diabetes. Then I saw a Dr who did the EMG and she sent me for a blood sugar test taken 2 hrs after I had a meal of pancakes and syrup. That test revealed that I am indeed pre diabetic. All of my symptoms she said are typical of what happens to many diabetics. Still can't find any medications to help but at least I found out about the pre diabetes.

Hi,
Honestly, I don't think I have pre-diabetes. I think he is trying to come up with some explaination about why this is happening. I still think it's MS. I'll take the diabetes if it is though!
It sounds like you have a lot of things going on K..
I would keep knocking on the drs doors, it's the unlikely ones that seem to take the time to see what's up (like the optomologist taking more care to look for ms than my neuro!)
Good luck.:)

Hi,
If you're asking me about the joint cracking, no, I don't have that any more than the average person (but until a week ago I thought it was okay that my legs fell asleep every time I sat down...) I'm a person who is in denial a lot about my health it seems. :)
It's so funny, at the beginning of all this, I used to read posts here and think..why don't these people just ASK the doctor what is wrong with them?? HA HA! Isn't that a funny one?? ;)
Hope you have a good night.
