I have been going thru artificial insemination to get pregnant since I suffer from policystic ovaries. Two weeks after the treatment I broke out with painful blisters and was diagnosed with Herpes. My husband and I have a monogomous relationship.
I am now wondering about the posibility that I may have contracted this disaease through contaminated instrumentations.
What are the chances of this happening?

Chances are you had herpes all along, it was dormant and the trauma or stress of the medical procedures stimulated a breakout. Ninety percent of the people who have genital herpes do not know they have it either because they have no symptoms or the symptoms are so mild they think it is something else.
You cannot get herpes from medical instruments because it is transfered skin to skin. The virus cannot live off a host long enough to be contagious.

Like Matter Of Time said you probably did already have it.
Did they diagnose you via a swab culture or blood test or both hopefully?
If the IgG antibodies were in your blood already you potentially could have had it before the AI procedures.
Has your partner been tested via blood test also?
