My partner has suffered with tinnitus since one day being at a race meeting and a car going past at high speed and making very loud noise..he felt his left ear 'explode'!!

Since then he has suffered with continual noise in the left ear and some deafness. I have only known him for 10 months but apparently this happened around 6 years ago. He has never seen a doctor as he is sure nothing can be done.

Is this correct or are there any new treatments around or could a GP help...Any advice would be wonderful...Maggie
