It depends on why you're there. Usually they will take general screening bloods to look at your blood counts, liver and kidney function, electrolyte levels and also to look for evidence of heart muscle damage. If a patient presents with a fever, they will also take a sample of blood to culture in the microbiology lab to see if any bacteria are present. Again though, it's very reliant on WHAT the patient actually presents with.
