Sounds weird I know but.. Four weeks ago I went to ER thinking I had another kidney stone. (Severe left lower back pain, nausea) CT (w/o contrast) stated no stone, but saw diverticuli. Also noted large kidney. I went on my way with

Hey there marilyn,
This is a bit of a hard call especially since there was no contrast with the CT scan. Many people in N. America and Europe have diverticuli in their sigmoid colon by the time they're 50 or so, but just because the diverticuli are there, doesn't mean they're necessarily causing you disease manifestations. Generally, diverticulitis will present with left lower quadrant pain, fever and other constitutional symptoms, though back pain can occasionally be present. So was a diagnosis ever made?

just diverticulitis. I don't know if it is correct or not, I'm not really having all the gastro problems associates with diverticulitis. My main symptom is left flank pain that extemds around and includes lower abdomin.
