chronic chest pain that don't have to do with the heart...I started having chest pains as a freshman in high school. My parents rushed me into the local clinic thinking I was having a heart attack. They hooked me up to the ekg and they found nothing. The doctor sent me to a cardiologist who took a eco cardiogram and said I had mitro valve prolaps. Years went by I would have my good days and bad until one day in my early 20's and I started feeling the same way. Like some one was stabbing me in the chest and pain in my left arm. Same thing happen went to the hospital and they took a ekg nothing showed up. They sent me to another cardiologist. He ran another eco and said that I was miss diagnosed that I did not have mitro vale pro laps. He also ran a stress test that showed nothing and a chest exray also nothing. They said there was noting wrong and sent me home. This went on for another 10 years off and on. My family doctor even ran a acid reflects test that showed up nothing also. Every one kept thing I was having a stroke or heart attack. The last doctor I had went to said it was most likely arthritis in my chest. So about 6months after that my pain got really bad. I called my family doc and asked if I could get some thing to help wit arthritis and explained what was going on they asked me to go to the er. I said no because this was normal for me and they never found any thing they called my cardiologist and they called me I told them my current systems. Chest pain, pain in my left arm, tinkling in that arm and shortness of breath. The told me also to go to the er they thought I might be having a stroke. after calling my husband we said that I would go to the er one more time. At the er they gave me a full work up. They gave me some vicaden for the pain it did not touch it so they gave me some morphine it only brought it down to a 3-4 on a pain scale 1-10. Doctor ordered ex-rays where I passed out during them. He made the choice to admit me for a night and give me another stress test because it had been years. The cardiologist made the choice to rule out my heart once and for all with a angogram he found nothing wrong with my heart. I did have complications from this and got two blood clots in my let 100% blockage. I had not had any pain for 6months and now out of no where I am having them once more. Any Ideas? They don't seem to think its my stomic any more and its not my heart but then what can it be?

Did they ever check you for pleurisy? If you don't know what that is it's an infection in the lining of your lungs. I had that the first time when i was 19. Thought i was having a heart attack. Severe chest pain, pain in left arm. Mine even went into my shoulder. Terrible terrible pain. I have it all the time, like every 3 months. They told me if you only get it a time or two its a viral or bacterial infection. More than that and there is an underlying cause. Mine we found is Lupus. Hope this helps!
