My husband's pulse rate has been between 40-44. His cardio ordered a 24 hour holter test and a nuclear scan. He also gave him a pamphlet to read about pacemakers. Has anyone here received a pacemaker due to a low pulse/heart rate? He also has stage 3 kidney disease.
Thanks,

I have an ICD which serves as a pacemaker when my heart rate falls below 60 bpm. Before the ICD, my heart rate would get down in the 38 - 40 range at night.
But I never felt faint on rising.

Thanks so much for your reply.
My husband has been taken off the medication Atenolol, so we'll see whether that makes a difference, as well. Atenolol lowers one's heart rate.
