My name is Debbie, and I actually found this site as part of a class project for Culture and Technology. We are discussing if we think that online communities are "real" or if we think they are impersonal and not real in our lives. As an online cancer supporter for many years, I've always felt my online friends and relationships were VERY real.
Since I've found this site, and this link to IBS, I do have a question/problem. I had my gall bladder removed in 1989, at the age of 26. Since this time, my BM are definitely not the same, even though my doctor told me I should expect no complications or problems. I get extreme cramps and pain associated with diarrhea. I don't think I've had a "normal" bm since the surgery. I've never been diagnosed with IBS, but after reading the posts here, I'm thinking this is my problem. I did have one doctor who told me I should take Metamucil daily, but I have not been doing that. From the posts, I'm thinking it might help. Any other suggestions? Anything to help the cramping and pain?
Thank you so much!!
