hi, after one year of trying to have a baby i had no luck but didnt think nothing of it as i already have an 8 year old son, i was also getting pains in my stomache during and after trying to concieve so i went to see my GP and was sent to the fertility clinic. after a few tests all coming back negative i was told i wld need further investigation via a hysteroscopy, laparoscopy and dye test in view of a poosible polyp.
The findings were both my fallopian tubes were damaged to the point of beyond repair due to a severe case of pelvic inflammatory disease. My only option was removal of both fallopian tubes then IVF to increase the likelihood of achieving a live birth.
I am 26 years old and have only been aware of my situation for the last 6 months, i will be going into hospital in 2 months time to have the procedure of removing both of my fallopian tubes i have never spoken to anybody who has gone thru IVF and have no idea of what the future holds for me regarding babies so i ask if any body has any help, experience or advise they could share with me i would be extremely gratefull.
thankyou for taking the time to read my story hope to hear from somebody soon x

Hi welcome to the boards. You might want to post over on the Infertility board as that is where most of us with tubal or endo or other problems post. Also a lot of women on that board are going through IVF. I too had blocked tubes and had Lap surgery to open. They were only able to open 1. After trying unsuccessfully with other methods of TTC such as clomid and IUI I moved on to IVF. It is actually quite common and most IVF clincs are so busy they can hardly keep up. I would be happy to answer any specific questions you might have. Also, check out the many books and info on the web. Just watch out for the internet it has a lot of missinformation too. Best of luck to you.
