I was told by a family doctor once that that I have and overactive metabolism. Last summer I went to my neurologist and had a blood test taken and he said my sodium level was low. He said this this could cause my medication to go through my system too fast. He told me to not drink much water, instead drink a gatorade/powerade drink. I told him drinking that during a meal is just going to make me fat. My problem is that I body-build and I eat every two hours to try and gain weight. I drinking water often is important for lifters and I hardly ever salt my food.

1) I was wondering If it would help or cause more problems (high blood pressure, etc.) trying to salt all my food instead of limiting how much water I drink?

2) If I were to try and limit the water I drink I was wondering if drinking tea would still be considered the same as drinking water?

3) Is this problem the reason why most of the supplements I take do not seem to help me build muscle because they are flushed out my system quicker than should be?
