I am very worried about my son who is 5 years old. We have noticed that in the last days he is not active at all as to what he used to be. He complains of being tired all the time now. He used to wrestle around, run play basketball, baseball and run after his nephews and he has not done any of that in the last 4 days. We had a real prett weekend and he begs to go outside and he prefered to stay inside. He had also been sick the weekend before and he has hyptonia. I have never experienced this with him can the muscle weakness just be going through a tough stage or is it going to get owrse. I have a call into his neurologist but they do not seem to think it is a big deal to get back with me within 24hours. Should I notify any of his other doctors to see what they would say such as he peditrician, gastro dr, cardio dr, etc...

I'm not real familiar with hyptonia but more than likely this is just temporary. I do know that by the age of nine they say the symptoms tend to decrease, but it could be a lingering cold or just a change in weather. Seeing a doctor is always a safe bet.

Hi AJFurr
I've been out of contact with the boards for about 3 weeks now due to power outages caused by an ice storm on January 26th. I was just wondering if you have found out anything yet. I have a 6 year old with muscular dystrophy and we are currently awaiting dna and muscle biopsy results from a study, that they told us could take up to possibly 4 months, so I know how waiting and worrying can be. Hope to hear from you soon
