View Full Version : IBS diagnosed but not symptomatic? HELP!

I hope someone can give me some insight and help here. I have been ill for almost 4 months. I came down suddenly with what I thought was the flu. Upper abdominal pain and moderate to severe nausea. I was in bed for a week. Symptoms eased a bit, but still have the nausea. Had multiple tests done including ultrasound and endoscopy and everything came back normal. No signs of tumors, anemia, ulcer, or gallstones, pancreatic or liver disease. My gastroenterologist finally decided that I must have IBS. But I don't have bowel problems. The only thing that's abnormal is that I get green stools on occasion which I believe is caused by too much sugar in the system. I haven't had constipation or diarrhea at all, except for once when I think I was eating too much veggies. I have always eaten a healthy, high fiber diet and drink up to 3 liters of water a day. I also used to work out regularly and now I just feel sick when I do.
I am at my wits end with this. I am constantly nauseaus, no matter if I eat or don't eat, and very fatigued. I've tried 5 different medications (aciphex, nexium, etc.) all of which have not worked. I don't have a high-stress life, but this whole thing has started to create anxiety in me cos I can't live my life normal.
Anyone have any ideas?? I have no idea what to do. I'm going to see my gp again on Tuesday just cos I'm still feeling horrible. At this point I'll try anything just to feel halfway normal again.
I'm 28 and too young to be feeling this way.
Thanks in advance.
Amy

Hi Amy,

Sorry to see that you are feeling so unwell with your stomach. Can I suggest that when you go and see your doc that you take a stool sample with you for analysis? I am suggesting this because you talk about green stools. It is just that as far as I know, some diarrhea at times and green stools is indicative of an infection that is called clostridium difficile. It is known as C.Diff for short or CDT. If you do test positive for this, your will need to take some strong antibiotics to get rid of it.

It is worth a shot and if you start to feel better, then all well and good. I actually have never heard or seen people with green stools due to excess sugar in the diet. At all times when I have seen diarrhea or green stools, it has been due to some kind of stomach infection such as C.Diff. Please take a stool sample along and ask your doc about this.

Good luck

Your symptoms sound like you have a yeast infection. Try eating some yogurt and take a preobiotic cap before going to bed. I like Probiotica fom Wal Mart it contains lactobacillus Reuteri a culture from mother milk and is not affected by stomach acids or some mild heat. It's made by the same people that make Immodium and it sure works.

A excellent homeopathic remedy for nausea is Ipecacuanha in 30X potency. You can get it at most health food stores. If you can't find that potency ---any potency will work ---just not as long.

You may try Arsenicum Alb. It's sometime works when you have the flu and just can't recover after you get rid of all the other symptoms

Harry,

Just a question. How come you tend to use so many X potencies, especially 30x? I tend to use a lot of C potencies If I want to use a remedy as an organ support, then I use a 3 or a 6x. If I want to target a specific area, then I will use a 6x, but would probably go for a 6c instead. However, 30c works just as well too.

Gelsemium is also a good remedy to use for the after effects of flu too.

Take care

Sarah
