I hope someone can give me some insight and help here. I have been ill for almost 4 months. I came down suddenly with what I thought was the flu. Upper abdominal pain and moderate to severe nausea. I was in bed for a week. Symptoms eased a bit, but still have the nausea. Had multiple tests done including ultrasound and endoscopy and everything came back normal. No signs of tumors, anemia, ulcer, or gallstones, pancreatic or liver disease. My gastroenterologist finally decided that I must have IBS. But I don't have bowel problems. The only thing that's abnormal is that I get green stools on occasion which I believe is caused by too much sugar in the system. I haven't had constipation or diarrhea at all, except for once when I think I was eating too much veggies. I have always eaten a healthy, high fiber diet and drink up to 3 liters of water a day. I also used to work out regularly and now I just feel sick when I do.
I am at my wits end with this. I am constantly nauseaus, no matter if I eat or don't eat, and very fatigued. I've tried 5 different medications (aciphex, nexium, etc.) all of which have not worked. I don't have a high-stress life, but this whole thing has started to create anxiety in me cos I can't live my life normal.
Anyone have any ideas?? I have no idea what to do. I'm going to see my gp again on Tuesday just cos I'm still feeling horrible. At this point I'll try anything just to feel halfway normal again.
I'm 28 and too young to be feeling this way.
Thanks in advance.
Amy
