I have been having vaginal infections for approximately nine months now. I took several does of different medicines and they went away for about 3 weeks, then come back. I've been posting on the Women's Health board, but am now wondering if my "attacks" of D from IBS is possibly the cause?
I have had yeast, strep B, e-coli found in the cultures over the months. The strep B and e-coli seem to be the main problem to me. The yeast did not show up for the last two culites.
Any other women reading this with IBS get vaginal infections?

IBS and Vaginal infections can and do travel in the same circles of malady.
Women with IBS often have a lot of female problems.
Women with a lot of female problems, especially endometriosis and cystic ovaries tend to have IBS.
So treating the whole system as one can be a good answer.
If your yeast problems show up after a run with antibiotics, then treating the system as a whole would probably still apply because the body is then depleated from the antibiotics.
There are medications that the doctors can give to help get that kind of problem under control but you probably need to follow up with a lot of probiotics in the form of adding plain no fat yogurt and/or probiotic suppliments from the natural foods grocery (that need to be kept refrigerated)added to your diet.
Cut out sugar, yeast products and try not to stress.
Talk to your doctor about anti yeast creams.
