View Full Version : Smoking and IBS

Hey I'm new to this site, and to this probem. but I have an important question. I'm 23, and I've recently self diagnosed myself as having IBS (i realize only a doctor can truly diagnose it) but I have all of the symptoms and nothing more. I've also correlated the start of my problems with one of two things. 1. waiting for letters of acceptance from graduate schools and 2. Smoking. Number one is past (for a week now) but I've had symptoms that have been around now almost 2 and a half weeks, some times worse than others. Here's my question, since I'm a new smoker (i realize it's a horrible habit to start) do you think that it could be the cause of my problems??
Any personal stories would be particularly useful, and to be honest, most convincing. But any advice would be great.
Joe
