Has anyone else experienced weight loss with IBS? I seem to have lost between 1/2 and 3/4 stone in just over a month.

I don't have cronic D or anything, although I guess my appetite is less.

I have been diagnosed with IBS since 4 years and have always been quite slim , but since then , I have started losing more weight , I think because I was reading so much about food that are not suitbale for people with IBS so started removing almost everything from my diet including milk but not really replacing them with alternatives , so my condition was getting worse and worse until I met my bf (a doctor) who adviced me to eat everything in small amounts and vary my diet and avoid just the food that really used to harm me before i knew i had IBS, and drinking a lot of water and eating a lot of vegetables, i started getting better and better ..I am not cured , I always have some problems but at least I don't look sick to everyone who sees me !
My advice would be to replace the food you removed from your diet with equal alternatives especially in carbohydrate, and take some vitamin supplements..
another reason of losing weight could be a lactose intollerance, a gluten intolerance ..as teh food doesn't get absorbed properly, check for those two as I have read a lot of people with IBS feel much better after removing milk and replacing it with lactose-free milk or taking lactase enzyme tablets
I hope this helps
